Marilyn B. Brungardt, 91, of Washington, died March 25, 2024, at the Washington County Hospital.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Washington, followed by the funeral service at 10:30. Father David Metz and Deacon Wayne Talbot will officiate. Sheila Ouelette is organist and the congregation will sing, “Amazing Grace,” “Be Not Afraid,” “On Eagles Wings” and “I Am the Bread of Life.”

A private burial will take place later at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Greenleaf.

On Jan. 3, 1933, she was born to Leroy and Matilda (Wurtz) Talbot at Greenleaf. She graduated in 1951 from Greenleaf High School.

She married Alvin Brungardt on Jan. 9, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenleaf.

She was a homemaker, and after her children were grown, she worked for Miller’s Flowers then Stigge’s Department Store.

She was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Alvin; son, Gregory; grandson, Barrett Singular; and brothers, Leon Talbot, LeRoy “Gene” Talbot, Robert Talbot and Jerry Talbot; sister, Yvonne Talbot and sister-inlaw, Wanda Talbot.

Survivors include daughter, Jeannette (Kent) Singular, Linn; son, Mark Brungardt, Manhattan; grandson, Andrew Singular; brothers, James (Marguerite) Talbot, Marysville, Raymond (Sheri) Talbot, Wichita; and sisters, Kathleen Wilkes, Altus, OK, Laura Asp, Wichita Falls, TX and Margaret Talbot, University, MS.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
